Music Television (MTV) and Europe Music Awards (EMA) have announced the Aye crooner as a nominee in Best African Act category for this year’s MTVEMA.
Davido is facing up against African acts such as Goldfish(South Africa), Diamond (Tanzania) and Toofan (Togo) to fight it out for the highly sought after award.
This awards will be the first time that the Award would be left in the hands of fans via social, so fans will get to vote for whoever the judge to be the better African act.
Not only Davido was a Nigerian representative, but Nigeria’s own Tiwa Savage is on the wild card lit ad if she gains a huge amount of votes, she would then get the chance to battle it out with the above mentioned acts.
This is the fifth time MTV has had a Best African Act category in the EMA’s with 2face[2005], Freshlyground [2006], D’Banj [2007 & 2012] and LCNVL [2013] winning the awards.
This years award will be held in Scotland and will be viewed all over the world.
Davido had a couple of months ago won the BET African awards after beating off fierce competition from Tiwa Savage and Sarkodie.
The Aye crooner has made himself into a household name in Africa with hits from Gobe to All of you still being played around the continent.
