When women are on their period, things can get very messy, especially when they try to have sex. That’s why many couples avoid it.
However, The Flex Company, a standout company from the Y Combinator startup accelerator’s Fellowship Virtual Demo Day, wants to replace outdated tampons and pads with a sleek, disc-shaped blood blocker – basically, it can be worn during sex to prevent making a mess.
“Flex is so shockingly comfortable that women tell us they forget they’re on their period while they’re wearing it,” says CEO Lauren Schulte.
The Flex discs are disposable, can be worn for up to 12 hours and come in a small stylish packet. According to Techcrunch, they are also doctor-approved, hypoallergenic, BPA-free and won’t cause toxic shock syndrome.
The reports reveal that pre-orders will open in April and ship in September, but pricing has not been announced yet. 20,000 people have already signed up for trials (well, damn people!) and it could eventually be sold in stores.
Long story short, white people have come up with a way for you and bae to have sex, period or not, and keep the mess away at the same time. What do you think? Good idea? Bad idea?
