Many people don’t use lubricants because they assume it is only meant for people that have sex related problems.
But the truth is that there are a lot of advantages in using them.
One of the most obvious advantages has to do with making penetration easier and less painful because it reduces the friction of the pen!s against the va-ginal walls.
Lubes can be used with a condom or even for normal skin-to-skin sex.
It must be noted however that there are 3 main types of lubricants with each having its advantage:
-
Water-based lubricants – these are the most popular these days. The advantage in this is that they are very not messy and can be easily washed off. It also works on all kinds of condoms. However, you need to keep reapplying again and again as you have sex.
-
Silicone-based lubricants – these are also compatible with all kinds of condoms but they are messier than water-based lubes. They don’t wash off easily and stay on the body. It is however good in the sense that you don’t need to apply multiple times because they last longer and work under water. However, washing it off may be a problem. Also, one of the ingredients used in making it – glycerine, can cause yeast infections.
-
Oil-based lubricants – these are common and can be improvised from household items like skin care lotions, Vaseline, body oil etc. However, they don’t work well with latex condoms and can compromise it. This brings the risk of a tear or leaking condom
No matter which you choose, be ready for the eventualities.
