Rihanna recently shared that if she ever visited the Western region of Africa, it would be to perform for free.
‘‘You know what? If I ever go to West Africa, it would probably be for a free concert”, the Barbadian singer said in recent interview with The New York Times Style Magazine.
“I would want to do something for the people there. Maybe we can make a whole event, the way Bob Marley would have done it.
“Just for the people. And if they climb over the gate, let them climb over the gate”, the ‘Diamonds’ crooner told author and filmmaker Miranda July.
As part of her Diamond world tour, in 2013 Rihanna performed in Johannesburg and Cape Town, South Africa in October that year. Earlier that same year, she performed at the Mawazine Festival in Morocco.
The international superstar is yet to perform in West Africa and East Africa.
Last week she unveiled the artwork for her upcoming album, “Anti”. The fashion icon is yet to reveal the release date for he album.
So far, the Barbadian vocalist has released three singles from her upcoming album. On January 24, 2015, she released the first single called ‘FourFiveSeconds’, featuring Kanye West and Paul McCartney. On March 29, 2015, she performed ‘Bitch better have my money’ for the first time at the second iHeartRadio Music Awards. And in April 2015, she premiered ‘American Oxygen’ on Tidal.
