Amber Rose was all emotional during her speech at her first-ever Slut Walk parade in Los Angeles on Saturday, October 3.
The 31-year-old model burst into tears when testifying to the crowd how she’s been slut-shamed since she was 14 years old. She also revealed that the insults went into her relationship with Kanye West in 2009-2011 and her marriage to Wiz Khalifa.
The mother-of-one, who has been campaigning against women being judged, blamed and unfairly labelled for being open about their sexuality, said she forgives Kanye and Khalifa for their ‘ignorant’ slut-shaming of her during their times together.
Rose began by saying she was “hurt” by Khalifa because “all I ever did was love him” and “gave him a beautiful son.” She added, “To be told that I was nothing but a stripper, it really hurt.” Rose then revealed, “Wiz actually apologized already, so I have forgiven him.”
Rose also told the crowd, “I want to forgive Kanye for what he said about me.” As we earlier reported in February, the rapper slammed Rose in a radio interview saying, “It’s very hard for a woman to want to be with someone that’s with Amber Rose. I had to take 30 showers before I got with Kim [Kardashian].”
But despite West’s unkind words, Rose said she wants to “let all the negativity go.” And she suggested others do the same. “People are ignorant, and you have to be the bigger person and be the positive person to forgive and move on and help other people around you that have been through the same thing,” she explained.
Her event brought out speakers and performers at the Pershing Square, including Nico & Vinz and French Davis as well her manager, Nick Cannon.
