Television host, Bonang Matheba, and her rapper boyfriend, AKA, have been honoured with the title of South Africa’s Favourite Couple, at the 2016 You Awards.
The pair, who were nominated alongside power couples such as Jonathan Boynton-Lee and Jay Anstey; Janez Vermeiren and Juliana Vasconcelos; JP and Sue Duminy and LeAnne and Sipho Dlamini, emerged winners at the event on Saturday, July 16, 2016.
Their fans were apparently pleased with the award, as they shared various tweets expressing their approval of the honour.
Matheba is fast becoming the face of top television programming in South Africa. She announced via her Instagram in 2015 that she will be getting her own E! Entertainment Special.
AKA is also enjoying more prominence as one of Africa’s best rappers.
He has opened the stage for international artists such as Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, Rick Ross, 2 Chainz, Big Sean and Kendrick Lamar on their South African tours.
As far as this pair is concerned, success just isn’t enough.
