Drake’s hit single, ‘One Dance’ featuring Kyla and Wizkid is currently being shot in South Africa.
The video shoots follows hotly the news that the rapper broke a UK record on Friday, after moving past Rihanna’s ‘Umbrella,’ for having the longest-running number one single since the era of legal download (RIP Napster).
People first got wind of the shoot when he updated this Instagram photo of crew, Material Culture, who are part of the “izikhothane” dance-battle movement by black youth in South Africa’s townships.
This led to more photos and videos of sightings online, with fans confirming that Drake was truly in South Africa.
The singer also made visits to the Melrose Arch and the Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory in Johannesburg, away from Soweto where he has been shooting the video.
The images also has Jamaican singer, Popcaan in it, the dancehall artist was controversially dropped from the album-version of ‘Controlla.’ Wizkid and Kyla, the collaborators on the single, were absent. The video was directed by Anthony Mandler and will be released in the coming weeks.
