Singer Davido has revealed why his much-anticipated sophomore album has not been released.
The singer had on numerous occasions announced the release of the LP, but came up with vague cancellations as the proposed date drew near. The latest of these came this month, with a planned release on October 10, failing to be activated.
Davido has explained the reason behind the delay, citing the interest of a ‘big corporation’ with distribution interests as responsible for the delay.
“The album is done, everything, but funny enough, two days before we were about to drop the album, we got a call from a very big corporation that wants to be involved in the album distribution, that’s why we pulled back.” Davido told Pulse.
“There’s no point doing things the same. If you are going to do it big, there’s no point doing it at all. That’s why I chilled back, and I want to let the big corporations do their work. But the album is coming.” He further said.
Titled “Baddest”, Davido’s album already has a number of hit singles including ‘Dodo’, ‘The Sound’, ‘Fans mi’, and ‘Owo ni koko’. He is currently working on releasing the video of a song off the album. It is named ‘The money’, and features YBNL rapper Olamide.
Davido will be turning things up with a live performance in Cyprus.
The HKN artist will be entertaining his fans in the Mediterranean island on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Lions Garden, Magusa.
