The Lagos State PDP Chapter has asked the Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola to suspend the Oba of Lagos for the harsh statements he made towards Igbos living in Lagos towards the State’s governorship election.
In a statement issued today by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Mr. Taofik Gani, the party noted that the action was necessary in order to guarantee free, fair and credible elections in the state. The party also noted that, it had also alerted security agencies to hold the monarch responsible for any attack on non-indigenes or PDP members in Lagos.
Mr. Taofik in the statement however concluded that if the Governor remains silent about this threat, then they would assume the Oba was carrying out an assignment on behalf of the State.
