Even snakes have suicide tendencies or so it seems.

A Snake Catcher, Matt Hagan, was called to a home after a woman found a 1.5m long Brown Tree Snake wriggling on her doorstep. But Mr Hagan said when he arrived at the home and located the snake, it had stopped moving – and had its venomous fangs sunk into its neck. The snake according to Matt Hagan, appeared to have committed suicide after it was found dead with its fangs embedded deep into its own neck.

“I could immediately see something wasn’t quite right with the snake. When I picked it up I noticed it was still biting down firmly on its neck. I thought what on earth – it looked like it had bitten its own neck and died,” Mr Hagan told Daily Mail Australia.

The veteran Snake Catcher, said he has never found any snake with its fangs embedded deep into its own neck and gave his own thought on the incident.  “When snakes have trauma they do try and bite around the area. I suspect the snake didn’t end its own life on purpose, but was possibly in severe pain and ended up in this unfortunate position. It’s just a really odd catch he said,” Mr Hagan said.
