The first lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dame Patience Jonathan has made headlines for different reasons in the past especially on account of her grammatical shenanigans and her meeting convened with supposed relatives of the kidnapped Chibok girls.
This time, the case is one of mistaken identity allegedly committed by Mrs Jonathan against America’s award-winning music star, Alicia Keys.
A tweet by Alicia Quarles, the University of Southern California graduate and TV personality who currently works with E!, indicates the first lady has made a request to the lady to come and perform for her in Nigeria, obviously mistaking her for Alicia Keys.
Although Quarles did not provide further details on whether the approach was personally made by Dame Patience Jonathan or somebody from her camp, it is believed the request must have been made in the excitement of being introduced to Alicia Quarles whose name doesn’t come out so different from Alicia Keys’ name when properly pronounced.
‘The First Lady of Nigeria just invited me to sing in her country. I had to break it to her that I’m Alicia Quarles, not @aliciakeys comedy,’ she wrote.
It is however, not confirmed if the First Lady actually invited her to sing in the country but it looks like Alicia Quarles deleted the tweet soon after.
