A Nigerian, Sulaiman Abdulkarim Isah, emerged top position in the international Quran completion category at the 18th session of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award (DIHQA). The award is given to the top memoriser of the Quran.
The competition, held in Dubai at the Cultural and Scientific Association, Mamzar, saw Isah, defeat Saudi Arabia’s Omar Hussain Baeisa and Yemen’s Mohammed Khaled Yaseen to the second and third spots respectively, in the international Quran completion category of the Award.
Apart from emerging first position, Isha was awarded the cash price of Dh250,000 (over N11million), which was handed over to him by Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai.
