A blog reader who witnessed this incident at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja this noon, sent in this story….
“Admin, I am so pissed off atm. You’ll not believe that Arik air has just arrested a fellow passenger for not saying sorry to its staff. After the dude was searched, the female staff attending to him, rudely asked him to pack his cans of alcohol on the ground…the guy felt offended at her request and asked her to pack the stuffs instead. An heated argument ensued, they called each other stupid, traded words and then the girl used the F-word on this guy Kemi, how dare her?
It got bad and top officials tried restoring calm….they blamed the guy for not obeying their staff’s instruction and asked him to say SORRY to her. The dude refused and walked away. Unknown to him, the security had been informed of the incident and that was how he was barred from stepping out of the airport.
They arrested him oooooo and led him away, he was still being held captive after I left the airport about 45minutes later, they were insisting he apologized to that STAFF, it was even announced on the public address system. I was able to record the whole thing, would send to you as soon as I get a strong internet connection, i am so disappointed”
No matter what, it is wrong to arrest unjustly, unless of course Arik Air has other reasons.
